SUMMIT REVAMPS THE GMAT TESTING ENGINE FOR THE PRINCETON REVIEW

With a focus on innovation, adaptive testing and the end-user, Summit has re-calibrated the testing platform for The Princeton Review.

ANNAPOLIS, MD. MAY 08, 2012 -- Summit Global Testing, a leading provider of computer-based testing solutions, today announces the launch of a new testing engine for The Princeton Review, a long-time client. This innovative testing platform integrates a new content-centric, Integrated Reasoning section, and supports adaptively delivered questions based on the candidates’ ability level.

Through close collaboration with The Princeton Review, Summit’s over-arching aim was to engineer an innovative testing engine to enable candidates to be truly “test-ready” for taking the GMAT. By integrating complex, adaptive scoring rubrics into the test engine, Summit was able to create a true “in-test” experience, featuring the new idiosyncratic test sections.  With the end-user in mind, Summit integrated an intuitive, content-driven approach to the interface, with streamlined navigation and clear visual cues to guide the candidate through the test. Moreover, the system now enables candidates to have immediate access to exam results, fortified with informative answer explanations, upon completing the exam.

Additionally, Summit overhauled its authoring tool for The Princeton Review, enabling the organization to easily author, manage and integrate innovative question item types, generate specialized reports and create unlimited exams. “A lot of organizations today are looking for new way to integrate innovative item types and adaptive testing,” says John Sotiros, Founder and CEO of Summit, “But truly succeed at it, you need a strategic vision. Which is why our partnership with The Princeton Review has been so successful over the years. They completely understand the needs of their candidates, and it’s our job to translate that into powerful technologies that deliver.”
